Heat Pumps for Electric Vehicles
Heat pumps within EVs are used to prevent the excess heat created by an EVs battery and drivetrain from going to waste. They absorb the heat and use it to heat the passenger cabin, which means that the battery doesn’t need to be used directly to provide this function. Less use of the main battery means improved range and efficiency, so it is in an EV manufacturers best interest to look at heat pumps as an option for improved functionality.

Making a sustainable choice for energy efficient alternatives to heating, whether domestic or industrial is increasingly common. With gas boilers being banned in new homes from 2025, the switch to heat pump technology is even more likely.
